Our Youth Workers care immensely about the development of youth in our local community. We want to see people grow up to meet their potential and as such we try to give them all the opportunities we are able to. Through mentoring, meet ups, tutoring, coaching, teaching and involving them in community events.

Andrew Wilson

Andrew is the Opawaho Trust Manager,  he has been working with youth since 2013. Andrew is also the Youth Pastor at Opawa Baptist Church. He is also a medic in the NZDF and a qualified Nutritionist. He plays a variety of sports and instruments in his down time.

Karen started engaging with the Waltham community through Opawa Baptist in her teens. She is married with four young adult children two of whom have recently gone flatting. She has an extensive background in work with children and thoroughly enjoys her time at the school.

Emily Russell

Emily is a part time youth worker. She has been involved with youth work since she was 15 and has grown up in our programs. She is currently working in Waltham School with year 7 and 8 students, running programs on teamwork, empowerment of self and peers, and awareness of global impact. She is also involved in our Friday youth group.
